Credibility & Integrity
For along time, since the day I became a Christian, I always thought that those who said they 'love' God or claim that they are Christians are people with integrity and credibility. However, the sad truth is I have met many who have neither.
I have been greatly disappointed time and again by people whom I trusted and had high regards for or loved. They could break their promises made without any remorse. *sigh* I have come to the conclusion now that it doesn't matter who a person claim to be but rather his/her actions speak volume as to if he/she has credibility and integrity.
Christians or not, without allowing the truth of God to be in them, they can be putting on masks which time will tell.
....The above are just my thoughts. Please don't take offense if you do not agree with them.

I agree with you 100%. Many people use Christianity (or a particular flavour of Christianity) as a tool for their own ends, not for the glory of God.
But this is true of anything, people like to aggregate and associate with something, whether that is religion, beer, sports team, music, clothes, political ideas, etc.
I remember having numerous discussions with a woman who claimed to be a Christian (she was of the Evangelical flavour). She read her Bible, went to church and prayed. However, she had no qualms about lying, stealing, cheating or behaving in a manner most would consider un-Christian.
Her rationale was that the Bible teaches and permits people to act in this manner if it is God's will. She would tell me that God brought her to a particular place, that God placed something before her, that God allowed her to take advantage of it, so it must all be God's will. Yet, despite being a devout Christian and following God's will, her life story was one of hardship, but she refused to see that her hardships were brought on by herself and not God. She would and continues to this day to pursue selfish ambitions under the guise of God's will. When she gets hurt, she is repentant and prays for forgiveness, but the next lie that crosses her path, she believes it to be God's plan for her. (It is kind of like the gambler who believes the next bet is the lucky one meant just for him).
That's why Jesus said, "By their fruits we shall know them."
